2022. This is a collaborative project between myself and artist Tyler-Lei Ashford. Her idea was for me to photograph ‘as a man’ with the intent of capturing more intimate and perhaps also invasive images. She is on the phone, wearing lingerie, reading and doing self-care in her bedroom whilst the ‘man’, or me, is watching and taking photos through her window, with ideas of female vanity present. The angles widely focus on parts of her body as the male gaze is usually associated with this.
These photos were part of Tyler’s Fine Art course project in university and were exhibited at an exhibition in Bath, ‘Age and Beauty’ in 2023.
