“Through the rebellious character of 'NASTY NANCY', the album explores a variety of themes surrounding identity. Starting off with tracks such as 'Ballerina', 'NASTY NANCY', and 'Rebel'; the tone of the album is defiant and embraces the demonised image imposed on people who don't conform to heteronormative ideals. The latter half of the project sees vulnerability and self-destruction enveloped in nihilism. The record explores various conditions experienced by LGBTQ+ people and has an overarching message of inspiring the youth to take political action and engage in activism. It's angry, it's sexy and it's eclectic. 'NASTY NANCY' is a coming-of-age story where the protagonist uses alternative dance music to release from imposed constraints from family, peers, and wider society. Everyone has a side to them which embraces nihilism and destruction, from this perspective 'NASTY NANCY' was written and produced.” - Adrian Buchelt
